We Rose takes us on a 'Rhythm Rendezvous' with their new discobass sound

The duo just dropped their two-part single on Subtronics' Cyclops Recordings

Let me take you back to a moment that still lives rent-free in my head—Lost Lands 2022, fireworks exploding in the sky, ATLiens dropping an absolute fire remix of Pepas, and me vibing with my besties like life couldn’t get any better.

We were losing it. Naturally, I had to capture that moment, and when we posted the video, the question was: Who the hell made this remix? It was straight-up filthy. A few comments later, we found out it was a We Rose & ATLiens collab.

That was the first time I heard about We Rose—and let me tell you, they’ve been on my radar ever since.

Fast forward to now, We Rose just dropped their two-part single 'Rhythm Rendezvous' on Subtronics’ Cyclops Recordings, and it's way more than just a release—it's a whole damn rebrand. These guys didn’t just switch up their sound; they launched an entirely new vibe they’re calling Discobass.

As soon as I heard about this, I knew I had to dig deeper and bring you all the details on these legends in the making.

When I asked them what sparked this rebrand, they said it all started with one track: Synthwave Shuffle.

"Synthwave Shuffle was the first disco song we ever created and was the spark that inspired the entire rebrand," We Rose said. "We talked about the idea for hours and realized that we had something so unique on our hands that we wanted it to guide the evolution of our career and trajectory as artists."

It’s always a bold move to hit the reset button on your sound, but We Rose clearly knew they had something special. And let’s be real—when you’re that passionate about what you’re creating, you just know it’s going to hit different.

What really sets them apart now is this Discobass sound. I don't know about you but I think it’s exactly what the scene needed. We Rose said they wanted to create something that still had the intensity of dubstep but with the happy, danceable vibes of disco. Imagine that combo—heavy drops but with a groove that keeps you on your feet instead of summoning demons in a sacrificial pit.

"You can really find the balance between the bass and disco spirit which is what we want fans to feel for them to be hyped-up, happy and still get to mosh," We Rose said. "Like take a mosh pit and add a lil bit of boogie, so a boogiepit is our vision for fans."

The concept behind Rhythm Rendezvous is all about time travel. We Rose wanted to transport listeners back in time, blending the retro spirit of the '70s and '80s with their signature bass energy. They dug deep into vintage inspiration—old-school synths, funky grooves, and even a 1985 boxing video game soundtrack helped shape the track Final Boss.

Yes, you heard that right—Punch-Out!! gave them the creative fuel to build this whole vision.

Looking ahead, We Rose is just getting started. They’ve got back-to-back releases lined up, and fans can expect a whole lot of Discobass coming their way. With more shows on the horizon and a deeper connection to their music than ever before, they’re ready to bring the funk to the masses.

Discobass is the sound we didn’t know we needed, and this duo is proving you can blend bass, boogie, and good vibes all into one. Keep an eye on this duo—they’re about to take over the scene, one boogiepit at a time.
