The Filthy Beat Inspectors are always listening and on the look out for the latest heavy-hitting beats in the bass music community. Recently, the walls of our departments have been housing agents who are always on the lookout for something more...something different.
It was recently brought to our attention that SubDocta has concocted a sonic elixir with his latest 2-track EP on WAKAAN, Crystals & Kombucha. Featuring Los Angeles-based rapper Reverie in Part 1, the duo brews a near four minute excursion through subterranean waves, while SubDocta takes his production solo in Part 2.
With Part 1, Reverie's flow is nothing short of insanity when paired with a mastermind like Subdocta. Wakaan has definitely gained a new anthem from the production and art of these two artists poised to take stages by storm. With festivals surging their way back into our lives, the anticipation could not be higher.
Part 2 continues the madness down a path I would not have been able to imagine is present. Ever since articles for the Filthy Beat Inspectors have been authored, our senses have been challenged thus forcing the attention of multiple aspects and levels to the art we all know and love as bass music.
This EP showcases the blend of different artistic backgrounds and just how perfectly dubstep can pair with other musical forms. Bassheads and wooks have always been the most welcoming of crowds when cruising the mainstages of festivals like EDC and Middlelands, so it only seems like a matter of time until other extremely talented rap/hip-hop artists are announcing themselves as other forces to be reckoned on multiple EDM platforms and EPs.
Be aware. We are ALWAYS listening...
