Kannibalen is at it again: 13 tunes make up their latest summer compilation, with a tasty ID we've been chasing

Artists like VLCN, SCAREXX, Soul Valient, WODD, YMIR, FREAKY & more are featured in this sonic vacation.

For years, Kannibalen Records has served as one of the most renowned labels for dubstep artists to release on. It's always spoken highly of in conversations regarding the scene's leading brands.

The Kanni Team does their part in putting on upcomers, and their latest release is no different. For the last few years, their summer compilation series, Kannibals at the Beach, has created a home for rising artists to showcase their work.

Well, third time is a charm, as this might be their most loaded compilation yet.

We just received 13 songs from artists like RayJhin, LVWZ, High Zombie, Jase Procter, Capochino and more. This compilation features electronic music that doesn't confine to the boundaries of one genre.

Included in the 13 tunes is one of the most anticipated IDs in dubstep: It's called PRIMAL by VLCN, Scarexx and Soul Valient. It's been played out by Excision, Vastive, LAYZ and many other massive artists on the tour circuit.

Imagine you're in the pits at the Subsidia Stage. It's sunset and the speakers are slamming: "Yeah, I got the King Kong," they sing.

The idea for this song was born out of a kaiju inspiration, Soul Valient said. He told us this collab was a huge goal achieved.

"We have been listening to his [VLCN's] music for a long time now and having the opportunity to work with him has been a more than fantastic experience," Soul Valient said. "We put together the idea of creating a song with the concept of kaijus, and PRIMAL was the final result, my brother."

SCAREXX said that this idea developed after meeting up with VLCN in Los Angeles. They all promised each other they'd do something cool with it.

"After that ... we started creating something that would have a big impact," Scarexx said. "We are fans of the KING KONG movie and we decided to do it with that theme, which was a great idea. Once we had the model, we sent it to VLCN and they were fascinated."

Our agents recently had the opportunity to meet Scarexx in person, as he played at Denver's Lost Lake venue earlier this summer.

VLCN has been playing PRIMAL forever, and we've always told him how hype it's gotten us.

"Been a fan of Soul & Scarexx’s music for awhile and reached out to get a song in with them," VLCN said. "The sent over a small demo with the King Kong vocal and I came up with the second half. They’re super talented and we work similarly."

VLCN has played some crazy shows recently, going on a tear after performing at EDC Las Vegas, then headlining Denver in late May.

We are looking forward to seeing several of the artists on this compilation perform at Lost Lands this September, which is already sold out. Fans will be able to catch FREAKY, High Zombie and VLCN on the massive festival lineup.

For us, it's cool to see such a renowned label continue to support bass music's most talented artists. Stream Kannibals at the Beach Vol. 3 on all major platforms now.
