Equator breathes new life into Pao & MAMI’s 'restart.'

Blending euphoria and intensity, Equator reimagines the original with a personal twist that hits as hard as it feels

Ever feel like you’ve made the wrong first impression and wish you could hit restart? That’s the vibe Equator is channeling in his official remix of Pao & MAMI's restart., and let me tell you—this one hits right in the feels and the bass face.

From the first euphoric note to the final crushing drop, it tells a story of second chances and raw emotion, all wrapped in a balance of soft melodies and intense basslines.

For Equator, this remix is personal. The idea of starting over, of correcting a misstep with someone you admire, became the heart of his creative process.

“The track represents making the wrong impression on someone you admire and wanting to start over," Equator said. "It's a really interesting experience to remix someone else's song who has put their own meaning into the track and be able to rework it and give it your own meaning."

This remix marks a new chapter in Equator’s journey as an artist.

At just 23, he’s spent over a decade in music, having started producing at the age of 12. In that time, he’s gone from dreaming about collaborating with his idols to actually working alongside them.

With releases on San Holo’s label, bitbird, and now this official remix, Equator has steadily been carving his place in the electronic music scene.

What makes this remix stand out isn’t just the technical finesse—it’s the way it meshes contrasting emotions into one cohesive experience.

Equator blends tender, melodic moments with heavy, adrenaline-pumping drops, capturing a balance that feels both intentional and instinctual. It’s the kind of track that can make you feel deeply one second and headbang the next.

"I'm really proud of the balance of euphoric and intense that I've achieved with this remix," Equator said. "I really feel that I've brought everything in my skillset to the table."

The remix is a mature take on his style, showing growth not only in his production but also in his storytelling. By reworking the original, Equator added a layer of his own voice while preserving the essence of the track.

Get ready to hit replay. Because some tracks aren’t just meant to be heard—they’re meant to be felt.
