Eight infectious songs from 11 artists are shaking the foundations of bass music, and we are here to catch the fever.
In the shadowy corners of the underground bass scene, a new case is emerging. This case is so contageous that it demands the attention of our agents.
The topic of interest? Bad Medic's Underdogs Vol. 2 comp.
It features a plethora of rising talent in the form of eight songs from artists like Van Wilder, THRASHA, DYNO, Exile, Mooch, Sola and more.
The label itself, Bad Medic Records, is an emerging force with a mission of shining a spotlight on "sick" tracks.
This theme makes sense, given that the label was founded a few years ago by Virus Syndicate. The contagion theme is prominent throughout their marketing and tone, as they continue to bridge the gap between genres of grime, drum & bass and 140 bpm.

Each song on the compilation is symbolized creatively by a mecha-dog, playing on the "underdogs" idea. The differences in the dog breeds capture the diverse styles featured on the compilation.
The Underdogs compilation gives listeners a chance to uncover new artists. One of our favorite tunes on the comp is called So Fine and comes from Mooch, a Perth-based drum and bass producer. Close your eyes and listen to this song, we think you'll be transported into an atmospheric world of sand and sun.
One of the more recognizable names on the American front is THRASHA, who is now releasing her second song with UK rapper, DYNO. The two have a song called S. K. A. N. K., a tune that captures THRASHA's cinematic styles while blending them seamlessly with DYNO's catchy lines.
"When I was given the opportunity to remix Ecraze and Dyno’s track, “Back to Back”, I fell in love with DYNO’s vocals and flow," THRASHA said. "I immediately knew I wanted to work together to crate a track that blends my cinematic dubstep style with his powerful vocals."
She went on to say that this song is essentially the premiere of the hip-hop side of her production skills.
Other songs on the compilation do an excellent job of mixing dubstep and grime with that UK flair we find so appealing. One example of this is Military Grime by P Wynter.
Whether you're new to the Bad Medic airwaves or have been streaming since day 1, we suggest you plug in and turn up these tunes.
These underdogs are ready to attack your airwaves. Will you answer the call or be left in the dust of their bass music pursuits?
